Disclaimer
Although all our test results over the past six years shows positive feedback concerning Photo Tex  paper to adhere to any and all flat non-porous surfaces and safe removal without damage or harm to the surface you placed our material on, we cannot control the environment and circumstances of all applications. Therefore, please read the below factory test results and our disclaimer:

1. Adhesive Strength (Factory Report)

We have been testing our Photo Tex Material for outdoors use for over six years (our weather conditions are the same as the Eastern United States) and we can confirm positive results for outdoor use using the pigment, water and UV based inks. We currently have signs still hanging for over six years with some fading (25% after one year). The Photo Tex paper has remained intact and well secured to a flat surface non-porous wall or building in all conditions. We do strongly recommend you place the Photo Tex Material on a flat, clean, dry surface for best results.   Results due vary based on brand of inks.

The new (S) series Photo Tex version concerning the Eco-Solvent Inks have given us mixed reviews and we do not recommend placing outdoors unless you liquid laminate.  The Solvent Inks seem to be lasting fine outdoors so far (18 months in testing).  We have heard about one year before fading in most cases.

UV Ink - Please watch for over saturation of heavy solids, since the ink sits on top of the material you may need up to a 1/2"-1" border to prevent curling from weight of the UV ink.  Also do not over heat the material as it will weaken the adhesive if overheated. Stay in the 40-50C range.

Bare metal (copper, brass, aluminum) can oxidize and actually melt the adhesive to leave a film in rare cases when removed.  So you may need to use goo-gone, simple green with a damp rag

2. Disclaimer:  Photo Tex Group Inc. any and all representatives

Photo Tex Group has complete confidence in the material to adhere without peeling or wrinkle on any and all flat surfaces and weather conditions.  But, due to the unknown variable conditions of where Photo Tex is being placed or used: Photo Tex Group and all its affiliates representing Photo Tex  cannot guarantee that under any and all circumstance the material will stay completely intact, and that no adhesive will remain on the surface when removed or that your surface will not adhere to the Photo Tex paper. Reasons being:  number of painted coats on your wall, age and type of paint used, dirt, undulation, dryness or dampness of your intended surface, no primers used and/or  heat (making the adhesive more tacky) from the sun when removing off a window or surface.

If you are unsure of wanting to use Photo Tex Paper  on your surface, we advise you to test a small hidden area for best results. Photo Tex Group will not be responsible, for any damage of your surface or workmanship of material do to these circumstances.

4. (SIT) Spontaneous-Ignition Temperature  Test: ISO 871-1996 “Plastics-Determination of ignition temperature using a hot air furnace. A 20x20.35M sheet at .4g began to produce a dark smoke at 450 C or 842 F.  Also please contact us for MSDS report.

*UV ink only can be used with either version, but bleeding heavy solids to the end of the material may

cause curl.  So you may want to leave a 1/2" border.  Also turn the heat setting to low or

as to much heat can alter the strength of the adhesive.

* Eco-Solvent inks  can fade outdoors so we recommend using any liquid lamination or spray.
